A lot of students attending HBCU's aren't just working with a full-time class load – before and after classes, students are handling a much larger workload with part-time jobs, extracurricular activities, and even online degrees in other fields, like healthcare. Students are probably some of the hardest workers I know.
If you're someone looking in from the outside, it's a wonder how they manage to fit it all together without burning out, failing classes or having nervous breakdowns.
Well, today we'll be talking about how to combine part-time schoolwork with a part-time online degree in healthcare administration. It's not impossible – on the contrary, students with this much work actually have a better chance of getting it all done, if they can budget their time effectively.
Creating a Rock-Solid Time Budget
I remember back in college, I decided to go the whole nine yards and take 21 units, 7 classes. I remember all of my friends calling me crazy, and they were probably right. The first week was rough – so many classes, so little time.
I realized that it was possible to go to every class, have enough time to study, and even fit in some free time and relaxation, but only if I stuck to my time budget. So that's what I did – I listed every hour of every day of the week.
Sound extreme? It was. But it was the only way I was going to get through it.
That semester was one of the most productive and disciplined times of my life. I knew that if I strayed from the schedule even once or twice, my whole semester might fall apart. So every hour of every day, I knew what I had to be doing – go to class, followed by a mandatory 3-hour study session, followed by a 30-minute lunch. After that was a half hour break, followed by class, and so on. Rock solid.
If you want to combine a part-time workload with an online degree in healthcare, this is the only way to go. Typically, the average hour of class takes an hour or two of studying per week to maintain maximum retention and high marks. That level of time commitment usually doesn't come naturally, so it's up to you to make your own schedule. Healthcare degrees (among others) take a lot of time on their own.
But why healthcare?
Why Healthcare Administration?
There are literally countless online degrees you can get, in every field imaginable – tech, business, accounting, etc. However, a healthcare administration degree, in particular, has proven to be a highly lucrative and effective degree to supplement (or even replace) some bachelor degrees. Bryantstratton.edu is an excellent school to receive a healthcare administration degree, and it's all done online.
Obviously, jobs are hard to come by for any college graduate these days Being competitive is a must, and some of the most qualified and passionate candidates are still left unemployed. An online degree supplementing a bachelor's or an associate has become highly competitive, largely because of how uncommon it is (graduating from an HBCU with an additional online degree certainly makes graduates attractive hires for many companies).
Healthcare is on the rise and has been for several years with new health technology in hospitals and Obamacare, which has created a high demand for healthcare professionals. Even if you've been studying English or accounting, a healthcare degree can go a long way after graduation.
Professional Benefits and Success Trends
There have been several studies recently about the levels of career and professional success for college students with online degrees. Just about every study dictates the same result – students with additional degrees have a higher chance for success in the financial, career, and satisfaction areas, largely due to their intense competitive edge and perception from potential employers.
A glowing resume showing a variety of degrees hints at your extreme levels of dedication, innovation, and perseverance (because this route isn't easy). If you're worried about finding a job, you want to be as competitive as possible – online degrees put you on the fast track.
Become the most competitive, lucrative, productive, and successful HBCU student you can be. It's not an easy path, but getting an online degree in healthcare, tech, nutrition, and even fields like engineering and trades (electrical, construction, etc) will make you the most competitive candidate for most of the jobs you're going to apply for.
