Vibe.com, the website for one of urban America’s long existing magazine is seeking editorial and video interns having a serious interest in music and entertainment such as pop culture, hip-hop and R&B, fashion and sports.
About the internship:
Daily tasks for editorial interns include researching new stories, transcribing interviews and contributing content to Vibe. Occasionally, they will have an opportunity to conduct interviews with actors, artists and prominent figures in entertainment on behalf of the brand. The ideal candidate must have a forward thinking mentality and should be able to work independently.
Daily tasks for video interns include assisting in shoots prepping, filming and editing video content in post-production. The right candidate must have strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented and hold experience with transcribing footage and creating cohesive visuals via Final Cut Pro.

Editorial Internship: Send an email to intern@vibe.com with a cover letter, resume, and 2-4 clips. The subject of the email should be “Editorial Intern”. If you do not have published clips, you can send your own music related pieces (reviews or news stories) as an alternative. Make sure to include a few lines about your favorite Vibe or Vibe Vixen issue or article and reason why.
Video Internship: Send a cover letter, resume to intern@vibe.com, with “Video Intern” in the subject area. Also, include clips or links to self-produced video content/reels. Don’t forget to include a visual that inspired you creatively and let the publication know why.
The application deadline for the summer internship is 12pm EST on Friday, May 15. To apply, students must receive a college credit and be available to work 16-24 hours per week at Vibe’s office in New York, Manhattan. All positions are unpaid.
