Kauryn Datcher, a sophomore majoring in chemistry at Talladega College, was selected to participate in the Sandia National Labs Start HBCU Program. She will serve as an intern for the institute’s Molecular and Microbiology Department in Albuquerque, NM.
The Sandia National Labs Program focuses on enhancing diversity in Sandia’s talent pipeline by partnering with HBCUs to increase research collaborations and expose diverse groups of talented students to the lasting impact they can have working at a national laboratory. It also provides opportunities to contribute to the nation through the unique access to facilities, resources, and comprehensive programs found only at Sandia National Laboratories.
Datcher said she is excited about this incredible opportunity and looks forward to receiving onsite training.
“I applied for this internship because I wanted to gain more knowledge and experience in Chemical Engineering…I am so excited to have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills that my professors have taught me throughout my academic tenure at Talladega College.”
