According to the Biden-Harris administration's fact sheet on Historic Investments and Support for HBCUs, their commitment to addressing these disparities is evident. Since January 2021, they have allocated over $5.8 billion to support HBCUs. Notably, this includes:
- $3.7 billion from the American Rescue Plan to counteract pandemic impacts.
- Debt relief amounting to $1.6 billion for capital improvements.
- Grant funding of over $500 million for academic capacity building.
Furthermore, the proposed Build Back Better Act promises a $10 billion infusion into HBCUs and other minority-serving institutions, with $2 billion earmarked specifically for HBCUs.

While governmental efforts are commendable, philanthropy's relationship with HBCUs has been a mixed bag.
