With a little imagination and effort, you can be the freshman with the most eco-friendly dorm room on campus.
Going green in college doesn't refer to the color on the classroom walls. It means buying products — appliances, storage solutions, bath basics, sheets and towels — made from recycled or organically grown materials.
It can also mean recycling used furnishings and electronics that would otherwise go to the dump.
“It's important for everybody to have a light footprint on our planet,” said Steve Black, co-owner of Hempmania, a Seattle-based company that sells hemp bags and backpacks.
