Central State Ranks 5th Nationally for Most Affordable Out-of-State Tuition

Students on the campus of Central State University enjoy the benefits of affordable Out-of-State tuition. According to U.S. News and World Report, Central State University ranks fifth in the nation for providing the most affordable out-of-state tuition.

U.S. News’ list of the 10 Least Expensive Colleges for Out-of-State Students for 2016-2017 is part of The Short List: College series, which considers indicators such as an institution’s cost, academics, and student population. The average tuition of the ten schools on the list was $7,909, which is nearly one-third of the average for the 334 participating universities ($21,377).

Central State’s top five showing is a direct result of University officials reducing the out-of-state surcharge fees by 76 percent. For a subset of new and returning students from select counties in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. The savings is effective Fall 2017 when the existing surcharge waiver agreements expire.

Other Notable Rankings for Central State University

Affordable Schools.net also recognized the value of a CSU degree in their 2016 ranking of the 25 most affordable bachelor-degree granting Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

In addition, CSU’s value earned the University a 45th ranking in the GoodCall 2016 Best Schools for Scholarships Report. The website examined scholarship and fellowship dollars per enrolled students for more than 4,000 public colleges and universities nationwide.

A regionally accredited land-grant institution, Central State University is the most affordable University in Ohio for in-state students. CSU’s academics prepare students to fill internships and jobs that contribute to Ohio and the nation’s economic growth. This acknowledgment by U.S. News and World Report underscores Central State University’s efforts to offer out-of-state students a quality collegiate academic experience that is Affordable.
