The BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to honor the life of a former BASF employee, Alfred L. Chisholm, who served as a leader in his community, and who was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars to assist students pursuing a college degree.
This HBCU scholarship is presented by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), and is available to undergraduate sophomore, junior and senior students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Due to the active participation of the BASF African American Employees Resource Group (AAEG), their relatives or sponsored students are strongly urged to apply.

For scholarship award consideration, applicants must complete the online applications and upload the following application materials to the online application by the application deadline, November 30, 2013:

- Complete the UNCF online application.
- Download and complete the sponsorship form (only if sponsored by BASF empolyee).
- Two letters of recommendation: one from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's academic abilities and another from a civic or community leader.
