HBCU Grad, Jasmine Crowe, Launches BlackCelebrityGiving.com

Sources: blacknews.com

Nationwide (July 12, 2011) — BlackCelebrityGiving.com (BCG) launches as a frontier blog providing news, videos and photos of black celebrity philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, and causes that directly correlate with black and African-American communities around the world. BCG is committed to providing a positive media platform that addresses leading issues in the black community including: education, health disparities, financial management and current events among other causes.

Jasmine Crowe

Founder, Jasmine Crowe is a proud HBCU graduate of North Carolina Central University and credits her education and vested interest in her community and culture as inspiration for her blog. “Starting out in entertainment PR and eventually branching out into cause and nonprofit PR, I immediately noticed a huge difference in the media response I received for nonprofit events, even with celebrities involved. I wanted to create a blog that would not magnify the negativity of celebrities, but focus on the positive things our celebrities do every day; a site where celebrities, nonprofit organizations and causes alike would be showcased in an always positive light and contribute to social change in our communities.”

BCG is laser-focused on showcasing charity organizations that both benefit and are supported by the black community. Charities and cause organizations can be featured on the site for free. To submit a nonprofit organization to the BCG charity list please email a brief description, logo, website link, and photo to charity@blackcelebritygiving.com.

With the launch of BlackCelebrityGiving.com the number one focus is the community. BCG has created the BCG Hero campaign which recognizes everyday people doing extraordinary things in their community. Readers can submit photos of the

ir charity work and be featured daily. The community is encouraged to nominate outstanding community leaders for a BCG Hero Award. As a pledge to creating social change BCG will gift two deserving organizations $500 in its first ever Social Media Campaign.
