The Edward Waters College National Alumni Association and friends raised more than $20,000 for the institution during the College’s Homecoming celebration.
The presentation was made during half-time of the Homecoming game, where the Edward Waters College Tigers defeated the Newport News Apprentice School Builders 47-21. Members of the Edward Waters College Alumni Association included Edger Mathis, Class of 1970, and Jacksonville, Florida Alumni Chapter President Malachi Beyah.
“It is extremely important that we give back to an institution that has given all of us so much,” said Mathis. “I hope this presentation inspires other alumni and friends of the College to also make donations to ensure that EWC students today have the same opportunities for success that we had.”
