Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility varies by scholarship. Payne offers several AME-affiliated and ministry-based awards for M.Div. and MARL students, including: the Rev. Henry McNeal Brown Memorial Scholarship (students serving in the 11th Episcopal District, academic potential, financial need); the Edmund D. Cooke Sr. & Elmer M. Martin Memorial Scholarship (M.Div. rising seniors, 3.0 GPA, AME denomination, pursuing an AME pastorate); the Dr. Jamye Coleman Williams & Dr. McDonald Williams Scholarship (AME students entering senior year, GPA above 3.25); the Rev. Cornelia Wright Memorial Scholarship (female Middler/2nd-year students); the Gordon Scholarship (completed 1/3 of program, 3.5 GPA, employed, preference for 3rd Episcopal District ministry commitment); and the Rev. Gilbert & Mrs. Hope Ruffin and Rev. Thomas A. Turner Sr. Endowed Scholarships (financial need, pastoral ministry capacity, satisfactory academic progress, ministry-impact essay).
