Bill Gates Scholarship 2015 for minority students is now open for applications. Funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the scholars program each year selects 1,000 outstanding students to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship. Selected students can use the funds at any college or university to complete under graduation in any discipline area of interest.

Continuing Gates Scholars may also request financial aid for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: engineering, computer science, education, mathematics, library science, public health or science.

Eligibility Criteria for Bill Gates Scholarship 2015

Minority students who have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply. Students with demonstrated leadership abilities through participation is extracurricular activities or community service are given preference. Apart from being a citizen of the United States, you should be an African American, American Indian/Alaska native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American.

How to Apply for Bill Gates Scholarship 2015?

You can apply for the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program by registering online. Once your student registration identification number has been created, submit all three duly completed required forms: student’s application (Nominee Personal Information Form), an evaluation of the student’s academic record (Nomination form) and an evaluation of the student’s leadership activities and community service (Recommender form) by the deadline. Just make sure to double check the student registration identification number that you provide to your nominator and recommender.

What Does the GMS Scholarship Award Offers?

Apart from providing support for the cost of education by covering unmet need and self-help aid, scholars are eligible for renewable awards for maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Not to forget, you can also request funding for a graduate degree program.

Overall, this good-through-graduation scholarship program is not just about money. Supported by the partnership of four renowned organizations, GMS also provides the scholars an opportunity to develop personally and professionally through leadership programs.

The deadline for the Bill Gates Scholarship 2015 is Wednesday, January 14, 2015 11.59 pm EST. Apply using the GMS Online Application now!
