Over eighty percent of all students attending HBCUs receive financial aid. Without this assistance, a disturbing number of bright young minds would be forced to forgo a quality education. With this in mind, we invite you to take part in the Inaugural DC HBCU Alumni Alliance 5k Run/2k WalK event! Proceeds raised will go toward Washington, DC metro area high school students.

A health fair will kick off at 10:00 AM. This is a proud first for the DC run/walk and will feature information from local nutrition, healthcare and fitness experts. All attendees can receive free BMI (body-mass index) screenings, blood glucose and cholesterol screenings and blood pressure readings. A wealth of valuable and free information will be available.
Also beginning at 10:00AM in the Blackburn Center is a College Fair. Local college representatives will be on hand to discuss higher education with high school students and their parents. A $1,000.00 scholarship will also be awarded during the Fair to the winner of our essay contest.
See You There!
We’re hoping for an excellent turnout this year, both in participants and spectators! HBCU alumni are encouraged to show some school spirit by wearing their school’s colors. Rain or shine, this event promises to be a great opportunity to raise much-needed funds, learn about vital healthcare issues and have a great time in the process!
