Florida A&M University President James H. Ammons believes his school is on track to have a compelling, detailed proposal for a new College of Dental Medicine ready for the Board of Governors to review before next year’s legislative session.
“I think the quality of the proposal that we’re going to put forward will get consideration. We’re hoping our proposal will resonate with both the Board of Governors and Legislature — and the governor,” Ammons said Monday.
FAMU has been working with consultant Howard Bailit for almost two years to put together a plan that will focus on educating and training dentists who will treat patients in under-served areas.
