There’s something about college that makes you feel sad and alone. It’s the fact that you will be far away from home, family, and friends. Most importantly, you will miss your room which served as your shell for several years. But just because you’re in college doesn’t mean you can’t bring a little of home with you. There are many ways on how you can make your dorm room just as comfortable and secure.
With early reparation and careful planning, you can transform your dorm room into your most favorite place while in college. The first thing to do is to come up with your college checklist to include all essentials for your dorm room such as the following:
There’s nothing like sleeping in a comfortable bed so make sure you have one in your dorm. This ensures that you get the rest and sleep you deserve after a grueling day attending classes and studying for exams.
Say hello to a clutter-free dorm room as you prepare a place for everything you need. These include the right size closets where you can hang and keep your clothes, shoes, and accessories. You should have shelves for your books and jars or boxes for small stuffs like paper clips, glue, pencils, and many more.
You should definitely have a work table where you can study, take down notes, and work on your assignments. It must be big enough to hold your computer and printer but just the right size to fit your room. You must have a nice chair to sit on and a study lamp in case you’ll be working late at night and you don’t want to disturb others.
Shampoo, soap, towels, facial wash and the like are your best friends when you start college. Use a shower caddy to keep your bathing supplies organized. You want to stay clean and fresh as much as possible. Of course, you don’t want to break your beauty routine back home just because you’ll be in the dorm. Instead, you must stick to it all the more.

There are dorms that allow you to prepare your own meals. This is more convenient than going out and eat fast food. You just have to bring with you your own microwave, plates, cutlery’s, and other utensils.
Living in a dorm may be difficult at first but once you get settled and adjust in your new environment you will be able to feel right at home. More so if you bring along your essentials for your dorm room!
